College Interview

  1. 1. Your volume was really good, along with your voice, it was pretty engaging.

YOu did seem to transition from subject to subject quickly, without a real transition, so sometimes its hard to tell that you are switching subjects until you did. Your pace was also really good. some gesturing with face, but none really with hands.
YOu spend alot of time on how you liked politics, so it caused to rush everything else. Maybe try to balance it all so you can talk equally about everything in your life.

  2. hey adrian, sophia watched this with me. haha. ok so i really liek your speech. you talked really well about your interests and the tone in your voice was fun and showed that you really cared about the subject. I dont like the way you started the recording, but that isn't such a big part. Over all i really liked it!

  3. Hey stranger! I like that you focused on what you're interested in and looking forward to in college, but I think you need to keep to your focus of "opportunities" a little bit more. When you talk about drama and cooking you sort of jumped around a lot which distracted from your initial interest. Also, you lost me when you talked about your trip to Washington. I would love to hear more about the Obama stuff, especially if it's something you're passionate about.

  4. You're off to a good start with this one. It's long (almost 3 minutes), and while I'm not a stickler for limits, it does seem to me that because you don't limit yourself, you start to ramble, especially at the end. See if you can cut it down. I like how comfortable you are here--comfortable but still articulate--and when you include specific details, you are quite compelling.

volume: No problem. Easy to hear you.
pacing: Again, causal and articulate. You're clearly talking with us, not lecturing or reading.
tone: You're on track with this, too...though, when you start to drift in the end, your tone flattens out. See if you can plan this out a little more so you can tighten it up.
engagement:You're relaxed, but you're not distant. It's good that you take time to think. When you use specific details, you're more excited about what you're saying. The more engaged you can get yourself with what you're saying, the more we'll be engaged, too.

    Grade so far: 40/50
